Thulasee (Tulsi) Jose, MD

Post-Doctorial Research Fellow, Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine

Dr. Thulasee (Tulsi) Jose is a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow working with Dr. David O. Warner, Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Mayo Clinic, Rochester. Dr. Jose currently investigates on tobacco cessation during perioperative period through a clinical trial titled “Perioperative smoking cessation in surgical patients using short messaging service program.” She collaborates with the Mayo Clinic Nicotine Dependence Center on the P30 Cancer Center Supplement Grant to implement tobacco control at the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center. She has extensive clinical and translation research background in tobacco cessation identification and treatment interventions among hospitalized patients. Her current research is on “patient optimization” and primary research area is smoking cessation within surgical/oncology clinical settings. Her recent work includes the development of protocol for tobacco treatment interventions for the Ottawa Model for Smoking Cessation Program, Division of Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation, University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Canada
