Jon O. Ebbert, MD

Jon O. Ebbert, M.D., is a primary care practitioner and Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.  He is board-certified in both Internal Medicine and Addition Medicine.  He has 219 publications predominantly in the areas of adverse health behaviors and addition.  Dr. Ebbert maintains active primary care and addiction clinical practices and is currently engaged in efforts to understand and manage the opioid crisis and chonic pain.

Dr. Ebbert’s research has focused on:

  • Combination pharmacotherapy for smoking cessation
  • Nicotine replacement therapy for the treatment of smokeless tobacco dependence
  • Chronic opioids in the primary care setting
  • Medical cannabis
