Brooke Werneburg is the Program Director for the Mayo Clinic Wellness Coach Training Program. In addition, she works with patients and clients as a Resiliency Specialist and is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach at the Mayo Clinic Healthy Living Program. Since 1999, she has worked with individuals on behavior change strategies on the topics of stress, resiliency, weight management and self-care. She holds multiple wellness coaching certifications and a bachelor’s degree in Health Promotion from the University of Northern Iowa. She studied additional coursework in Positive Psychology, Living on Purpose, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART). Brooke contributes to research in the study of stress and resiliency, quality of life, and wellness coaching and is published in a variety of peer-reviewed articles and has presented nationally. In 2017, she received her academic appointment as Assistant Professor of Medicine by Mayo Clinic. She serves as an invited reviewer for the Mayo Clinic Health Newsletter and is contributor to the Mayo Clinic Patient Education learning library. Brooke describes wellness coaching as the key to an individual’s behavior change process- exploring wellness, motivation and lifestyle habits through a new lens for learning about one’s self.
