Tobacco and Nicotine A Continuum of Risk
I am more motivated after attending the Summit Conference. I even carried back some of the ideas to implement under my project.
A highlight was the sharing by former patients – very moving.
I got some good ideas and practical tips that will help when educating providers.
It made me realize that there is a real need to push forward the implementation of evidence-based care at the national and international level.
Last year was an extraordinary meeting. I'm looking forward to the next Conference.

Nicotine Dependence Center
Mayo Clinic's Nicotine Dependence Center (NDC), in Rochester, Minn., is comprised of three programs: Treatment, Education and Research. The full integration of all three programs is consistent with the Mayo philosophy of providing the best care possible for our patients, in this case, those who use tobacco. The incorporation of clinical practice, patient and staff education, and research throughout our efforts allows for the prompt translation of research findings into patient care.
Mayo Clinic’s mission is to inspire hope and contribute to health and well-being by providing the best care to every patient through integrated clinical practice, education, and research. Our primary value is “The needs of the patient come first”
Global Bridges – hosted by Mayo Clinic is a science-based initiative with a mission to mobilize a global network of healthcare professionals and organizations dedicated to advancing effective tobacco dependence treatment and advocating for effective tobacco control policy.
